Crest Hill

Angela M. “Angie” Druckrey

Age 79 of Crest Hill, IL, passed away peacefully at Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care on Friday evening, September 8, 2023, following a brief illness, with her family at her side.

Born on September 16, 1943 in Joliet, Angie was the daughter of John and Dorothy (née Phillips) Fassio. Raised in the Joliet area, Angie was a graduate of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Grade School, St. Francis High School (Joliet Catholic Academy) – Class of 1961 and Joliet Junior College – Class of 1963.

On June 5, 1970, Angie married Randal G. “Randy” Druckrey in the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus Parish, Joliet, IL.

Angie was employed with Illinois Bell Telephone / AT&T as an administrative assistant and retired in 1999 after many years of dedicated service.

Angie enjoyed spending time with Randy as they made it a point to go out for a fine dinner and a martini to catch up on the week’s events. They especially enjoyed their many trips to Lake Geneva, WI.

In her free time, she enjoyed socializing, meeting friends for coffee or lunch.

Angie was a member of St. Ambrose Church, and experienced great peace and comfort attending Mass on Sunday mornings; especially after the passing of her husband, Randy this past January 29th, 2023.

Angie was a dedicated supporter of her grandchildren. She attended all of their sporting events, dance recitals and Christmas concerts. She loved to shop with her grandchildren and often spoiled them. If one of them celebrated a birthday, it was everyone’s birthday! Angie loved doing for others and always showed concern and compassion toward them. She was also an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching football and always enjoyed a good laugh. Angie will be truly missed by her family and numerous friends.

Survivors include her devoted and loving daughter and son-in-law, Lisa A and Kenneth W. Ospalik; adored

grandchildren, Beth, Kenny and Chloe Grace Ospalik; longtime friend and neighbor of 41 years, Janet

Russ, and her loyal friends; too many to mention.

Angie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Randy Druckrey; grandson, Blake W. Ospalik (2009), and parents, John and Dorothy (née Phillips) Fassio.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the entire staff of Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care for their dedication and compassion toward Angie.

Per Angie’s wishes, cremation rites were accorded and private services will be held.
