Bernadine F. “Bernie” Russ

Age 91 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

Born August 20, 1934, Bernie was a daughter of John and Mary (née Kostelec) Russ.

She was a proud graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School and Joliet Township High School.

Bernie worked in the Department of Energy at Argonne National Laboratory and retired after 45 years of dedicated service.

She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was known for her love of watching old western movies. Although yard work and gardening were never her forte, she always kept it in pristine condition.

Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Bernie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Russ; Siblings, John (Barb) Russ, Jr, Stephen (Peg) Russ, Marie (Anthony) Dragovan, Frank (Mary Lou) Russ, Millie Slobodnik, Ralph (Jo-Anne) Russ, Anthony (Jan) Russ and Helen Dominicci.

Private Funeral services were held and Bernie was laid to rest beside her dear parents.

Preferred memorials or mass intentions in Bernie's name may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Joliet.
