John D. Howe

Age 80, of Channahon, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Meadowbrook Manor in Bolingbrook.

Born June 30, 1945 in Princeton, IN, John was a son of the late Wallace and Eleanor (née Whitten) Howe.

On May 9, 1968, Sergeant John Howe was awarded an Army commendation Medal for heroism in connection with military operations against a hostile force in the Republic of Vietnam.

A sincere thank you to the staff of Meadowbrook Manor and Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care for their compassion and support of John during the past several weeks.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet at the welcome Center at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery on April 16, 2026 at 1:15 p.m.

Military honors conducted by the United States Army and a committal service will be held at 1:30 p.m.
