Louise A. Fazio, age 70, of Plainfield IL, passed away, in her home, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. Louise was born December 8, 1955, to the late Ceasar R. and Catherine (nee Prebeg) Bartolomei.
Louise was a graduate of Joliet Township West High School and Joliet Junior College School of Nursing. Louise continued her education, graduating from Aurora University with her Bachelor's Degree in nursing and graduating from Lewis University with her Master's Degree in nursing. Her certifications include RNC-NIC (Neonatal Nursing) and CNML - Certified Nurse Manager Leadership. She was the recipient of the Rush Copley Nurse Leadership Award in 2024.
Louise devoted her life to caring for others through her work as a nurse, a profession she approached with deep compassion, pride, and unwavering dedication. She held herself to the highest standards and believed in providing only the best—both in her career and in her personal life.
Above all else, Louise was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She adored her children and her grandchildren. She found her greatest joy in being part of their lives. Her love was strong, her expectations were high, and her commitment to excellence shaped everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She enjoyed and found peace in caring for the flowers and plants in her yard, which created a beautiful scenic environment for her family and visitors to enjoy. Her kitchen was a place of laughter with an abundance of food from her favorite make-again recipes. The Christmas Season was her favorite time of the year. Every room in her home was decorated with a different Christmas theme.
Louise leaves behind her husband of 45 years, Michael, her children Vince, Renee (Jon) Kane and Nate, her grandchildren Angelo, Myah Rae, Mason and Maddie Jo; brother Mario Bartolomei; brothers-in-law Tom Colombo, Tony, Chris, Steve, Vince (Katie) and Paul (Rocio) Fazio; sister-in-law Mary (late Dr. Deming) Payne, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her lifelong friend Rita Heenan. She joins her son Dominic, her parents, brother Ceasar S; sisters Catherine Yonely, Marianne Colombo; father and mother-in-law Anthony and Grace Fazio; nephew Christopher Bartolomei.
Louise's family would like to thank the countless coworkers and friends for their visits and support, Dr. John Davine and his team of doctors and the nurses at Rush Copley Medical Center, as well as the staff at Vitas Hospice for their compassionate care of Louise during her illness.
