Michael Robert Cory was born on August 27, 1975, to Robert and Kathleen Cornstubble. From his earliest days, Michael’s joyful energy and deep curiosity made him a light in the lives of all who knew him. He was a loving and devoted son, a loyal brother to Mark Cornstubble, and a true friend to many.
Michael’s childhood was filled with passion especially for sports cars and the adventures of Speed Racer. That early fascination blossomed into a lifelong love for speed, excellence, and all things finely crafted. Michael was always wise beyond his years, with a sharp mind and a kind heart that stood out from a young age.
He graduated with honors from Joliet West High School and continued on to Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL, where he earned his bachelor’s degree and became a proud member of Sigma Pi fraternity. His desire for continued growth led him to Georgetown University, where he earned his Master’s degree with distinction.
Michael built a remarkable career in the automotive industry, where he excelled in multiple roles and ultimately became the Director of Marketing and Communications. His leadership, creativity, and drive left a lasting impression wherever he went.
Outside of work, Michael lived life to the fullest. He traveled the globe, exploring different cultures and building friendships across continents. Despite all his adventures, his heart was always with his family. He shared an especially close bond with his mother, Kathleen, and together they created a lifetime of cherished memories through their shared travels.
Michael lived by a strong personal code. He was disciplined, generous, driven, and loving. He worked hard, played hard, and inspired others to do the same. Holidays and special occasions with family were treasured moments, filled with laughter, stories, and the warmth of togetherness.
A constant source of joy in his life was his beloved dog, Rhys his companion, roommate, and best friend for many wonderful years.
Michael is survived by his loving parents, Robert and Kathleen Cornstubble, and his brother, Mark Cornstubble. He leaves behind a powerful legacy of love, kindness, integrity, and achievement. He touched countless lives and will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever cherished.
The Cornstubble family extends their heartfelt thanks for your presence, support, and love during this time. Your kindness honors Michael’s life and legacy and brings great comfort to all who loved him.
