Randal G. “Randy” Druckrey

Age 82 of Crest Hill, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Lightways Hospice Home with his family at his side.

Born April 19, 1940 in Pulcifer, Wisconsin, Randy was a son of Richard and Evelyn (Née Moede) Druckrey.  He was raised in the Shawano, WI area and attended Bonduel High School and Lakeland College. 

On June 5, 1970, Randy married Angela M. Fassio in the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus Parish, Joliet, IL.

Randy was employed in the Circulation department at Joliet Herald News for numerous years and later worked for AAA as an auto insurance agent, retiring early due to health issues.

In his free time, Randy enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs.

He was a dedicated supporter of his grandchildren. He attended all of their sporting events, dance recitals and Christmas concerts. Randy will be truly missed by his family.

Survivors include his dedicated and devoted wife of 52 years, Angela M. “Angie” Druckrey; loving daughter and son-in-law, Lisa A and Kenneth W. Ospalik; adored grandchildren, Beth, Kenny and Chloe Grace Ospalik, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Randy was preceded in death by his grandson, Blake W. Ospalik (2009); parents, Richard and Evelyn Druckrey and brother, Gerald R. (Marilyn) Druckrey, MD.                                                                            

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Chrissy and the entire staff of Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care for their dedication and compassion toward Randy. 

Per Randy’s wishes, cremation rites were accorded and private services were held.
